“For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat… naked, and you clothed Me.”

— Jesus (Matthew 25:35–36)

The members of First Baptist Church at Weston recognize that the needs in Broward County are great in regard to the plight of the homeless and those who are poorest in our community. To help meet these needs in the community, we are encouraging members to help partner ministries in our community to not only meet the physical needs of people, but meet their spiritual needs as well. Every person needs bread to fill their stomach and the Bread of Life to fill their soul.

Below are listed the ministry opportunities through our church to help the homeless and hurting in Broward County.

Broward Partnership for the Homeless

Broward Partnership for the Homeless is committed to reducing homelessness by promoting independence and self-worth through advocacy, housing and comprehensive services.

The facility is located at:

Broward Partnership for the Homeless
Huizenga Family Campus
920 Northwest 7th Avenue
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311-7229

How you can help:

The fourth Sunday of each month, the church will collect new and gently used clothes that will be donated to BPHI. The collection bin is located on the North Patio.

Also you can volunteer to serve breakfast to the homeless and participate in the chapel following the meal.

All volunteers are required to complete and return a volunteer application by Thursday before the service date. Please e-mail the application to gustavoferrermd@yahoo.com. To download an application, click here.

You can contact Dr. Gus Ferrer at gustavoferrermd@yahoo.com for more information.

Canned Food Drive

First Baptist Church at Weston will be collecting canned foods the third Sunday of each month to help replenish food pantries in Broward County. You can bring non-perishable food items and leave them in the designated bins on the patio. These items will go to ministries partners like Tanna F. Dawson Community and Ministry Center.

If you would like to volunteer in delivering these food items you may contact Carmine Biello at cbiellojr@gmail.com.
